Many of the South Shore’s entrepreneurs and business owners chose to locate or create their business here for the lifestyle, where one could board in the morning and bike, sail or golf in the afternoon.
Recreation and tourism comprise the backbone of our economy anchored by the likes of Vail Corporation and Edgewood Companies, whose ongoing investments ensure impeccable guest experiences. Their investments are attracting new private capital to renovate existing tourism businesses ranging from casinos, such as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and boutique hotels, like Basecamp Hotel to restaurants, galleries and shops.
With recreation at the forefront, health and wellness businesses are diversifying to encompass world class orthopedics, alternative medicine and wellness opportunities featuring yoga and sports training.
Recently spawned entrepreneurs including spice, vodka, soap and spirit makers are comfortably taking their places alongside established wide-ranging businesses such as fiber options, IT, hydrologists, environmental planners, chefs, artists, personal trainers, marketing strategists and production studios. New South Shore entrepreneurs include Tahoe Mountain Lab, a new coworking space in South Lake Tahoe that offers useful workshops and affordable offices for entrepreneurs themselves.
In addition to supporting businesses with networking opportunities, TahoeChamber provides guidance on running a business in both Nevada and/or California. Entrepreneurs are supported through our business coaching program, Tahoe Tactical Team, and community workshops that focus on topics most important to business owners.
In keeping with small businesses' interests, TahoeChamber also represents business to government and advocates for business friendly legislation at both the state and local levels.
