Meet the Coaches.
Yan Campbell owns and operates Dollar Signs and Graphics (www.dollardesigns.net) a local advertising agency that provides a full range of business and marketing services. With a small team of designers and fabricators, Yan’s core services include market and competitive analysis, logo design, marketing material, website, advertising and sign design. Dollar Signs and Graphics also provides all sign manufacturing and support services including printing and sign fabrication, permits and installation and maintenance. They also offer web marketing services, search engine optimization, e-commerce and custom programming. Yan has helped hundreds of local businesses and his work can be found throughout South Lake Tahoe.
Yan's background is in business management. In addition to Dollar Signs and Graphics, Yan owns Alpine Computers, Rankhigh SEO, and Alpine Designs. Yan holds a business degree from the University of Massachusetts.
Michael P. Hambsch
Michael P. Hambsch was admitted to practice law in 1974 and has been practicing in the Lake Tahoe Basin since 1980. He received his B.A. from University of California and law degree from California Western School of Law. Michael was licensed in 1974 to practice in all state courts in California and in Nevada in 1981. He served as judge pro tem in Orange County and currently here in El Dorado County, mediator and alternative dispute resolution arbitrator. Mike was formerly a partner with the Orange County law firm of Lawton, Christenson, Fazio, McDonell, Briggs, Ward & DeSales and the principal and managing attorney for the Law Offices of Michael P. Hambsch in South Lake Tahoe. Michael’s law practice includes family law, real estate transactions, business formation, will and estate planning, and probate. He is a member of the State Bars of California and Nevada. He is currently Judge Pro Tem for El Dorado County.
Craig Hollingsworth is the President of HF, Incorporated and a business counselor for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Craig formed Hollingsworth & Associates LLC, (now part of HF Inc.) in 1995 as a business consulting service focused on the resort and hospitality industry serving a variety of clients ranging from small family-owned businesses to national and international clients. Prior to that time, Craig was teaching full time at the collegiate level where he served as Associate Professor of Business and Program Director at Sierra Nevada College, Assistant Professor at Truckee Meadows Community College, and Adjunct Professor at San Jose State University. Before entering the world of academia, Craig was Vice-President of Legal Affairs at JWM Engineering, Inc. Craig holds a law degree as well as degrees in Economics and Business Administration.
Craig brings a rational, pragmatic approach to helping clients solve their business issues using time-tested business principles combined with analytical innovation encompassing current markets trends and economic forecasts.
Brad brings to the team a 40 plus year career as a highly experienced and diversified leader skilled at building organizations, developing company-wide best practices and standards resulting in consistent delivery of bottom line results. He is strong in analytics with the ability to define clearly thought out strategic plans for enhancing operational, merchandising, organizational, process management, loss prevention, growth, brand development and customer service performances. Brad has a significant record in increasing sales and profitability in the highly competitive world of retail industry by designing and implementing innovative strategies and concepts tailored to the needs of the business.
Brad's competencies and experiences include profit and loss, organizational and personnel development, strategic mergers and acquisitions, multi-site operations, loss prevention and risk management, best practices and standards, merchandising, new store development, customer service standards, vendor relationship management, new concept development, project management, and motivational speaking.
Brad’s experience includes 25 years with Woolworth/Footlocker. His corporate positions included VP of Planning and Distribution and VP General Manager of a 130 store division based in Southern California. Brad moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1997 to enjoy the mountain lifestyle and the ski industry. He was a corporate VP of Retail/Rental for American Skiing Company, Regional Director for Specialty Sports Venture and ultimately VP of Operations, EHS, Risk Management for Vail Resorts Retail from 2010 through his retirement in 2015.
Jon’s professional life has been devoted to an administrative career in the financial management of colleges and an academic career in business instruction. He has been an instructor and co-chair of the business department at Lake Tahoe Community College for the past ten years. In his early years, he also had his own accounting/bookkeeping and tax services business focusing mainly on small entrepreneurial businesses. Along with a BBA in accounting/finance and an MBA in finance/management, Jon earned an Ed.D in multicultural education. He has effectively integrated his extensive administrative experiences into his teaching style and instructional preparation. Jon also received a Certificate of Excellence Award for successfully completing the Leadership Lake Tahoe Program.
Laura is President of Tahoe Training Partners (www.tahoetrainingpartners.com), a human resources and management training solutions consulting firm located near Lake Tahoe, California. Laura has held senior management positions in the hotel, resort and gaming industries, most recently in a ten-year assignment as Corporate VP of Human Resources for Booth Creek Resorts. With an extensive background in learning management and knowledge transfer, including certification as a Covey Leadership Center facilitator, Laura has been the architect of innovative training environments at several organizations, including the resort/hotels within the Harvey’s Hotel Casino portfolio (now Harrah’s Entertainment Inc.). Laura is a certified Senior Human Resources Professional accredited by the Human Resource Certification Institute.
Dr. Jamie Orr is a successful entrepreneur, physicist, and educator with expertise across a wide range of technical fields. She is passionate about helping young companies and students alike to thrive and discover their potential. She is a co-founder of Tahoe Mountain Lab, South Lake Tahoe's first co-working space and innovation hub. Jamie also teaches courses at Lake Tahoe Community College in physics, mathematics, chemistry, and green sustainable education, and consults in the areas of economic development, entrepreneurship, and education. Passionate about nature and science from an early age, she received her B.S. in physics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Jamie also earned an M.S. in experimental condensed matter physics studying the fabrication and characterization of magnetic nanostructures, and a Ph.D in theoretical physics from UC Davis focusing upon protein folding models associated with amyloid diseases. As an instructor at Foothill College in Silicon Valley, Jamie developed research and curricular programs in renewable energy technology and efficiency, nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, and 3-D printing. Additionally, Jamie held research privileges at NASA Ames Research Center. Jamie currently serves on the board of directors of Sustainable Silicon Valley and was the co-chair of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Energy Committee. Born and raised in San Mateo, CA, Jamie spent every summer vacation on the west shore of Lake Tahoe hiking, biking, and enjoying Tahoe’s beautiful beaches with her family and their numerous golden retrievers.
Tracy Owen Chapman is owner and team leader of TOC Consulting www.ConsultTOC.com. She brings 20+ years of experience across multiple industries such as hotel/casino, ski resort, academic, environmental redevelopment, agency, media and tourism. Her background in the Lake Tahoe Region includes top senior management roles, extensive team leadership and a proven record of success based on ROI. Tracy is a strategist focused primarily on brand development and target market engagement. She demonstrates technical expertise across the marketing mix and enjoys working on new product launches and repositioning businesses for effectiveness. She works with clients to bring the best ideas forward for success and relies on research to base her approach. The long-time community volunteer has served on multiple Boards and committees along with consistently helping non-profits.
