    Stateline, NV – June 17, 2015- The Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) is proud to announce that open enrollment for the 2015 Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge (TRTC) has started and we welcome everyone to join! Outdoor and trail enthusiasts of all levels are welcome to join us for another fun year exploring amazing places located throughout the Tahoe Basin & on the Tahoe Rim Trail. This locally recognized health & wellness program has gained regional attention with well over 400 individuals, families, corporations & teams already joining as they challenge themselves in Tahoe’s pristine backcountry. 
    2015 Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge
    The Tahoe Rim Trail Association (TRTA) is proud to offer both novice & seasoned hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians the 2015 Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge, now in its third year! This family-friendly outdoor adventure is perfect for anyone wishing for fun and challenging adventures in the great outdoors while exploring exciting destinations the Tahoe  Rim Trail has to offer. The TRTC program is great for all skill levels of trail users who are looking to take on six easy to moderate 2-13 mile sections, which are part of the larger 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail system. Each destination will take you to something unique including: Wildflower infused meadows, rich historical sites, crystal blue alpine lakes & stunning vistas along the ridgetops of the Carson & Crystal ridges.  Each participant has from April 15 until December 31, 2015 to complete each of the six challenge sites on your own and can track your progress via the TRTA’s website. By joining you’ll receive the tools need to successfully complete your challenge including: Special web access to download 6 maps & trail descriptions, driving directions to each trailhead, a TRT Challenge tech t-shirt, a 1 year membership to the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, invitation to special hikes & giveaways, as well as, an online tracking system to log your completed challenge and share your pictures. 
    The Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge is a great way to support the mission of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association. The program fee of $55 for individuals and $85 for families not only provides you direct access to the challenge, but includes a 1-year membership to the TRTA. Existing TRTA members and additional family members can also enroll at the program fee rate of $20/person.     The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will be hosting four more on-the-trail events this summer held in conjunction with the Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge. Join us for an upcoming “Where’s McLeod? Giveaway Day” held on select Saturdays at various TRT trailheads corresponding to the various challenge sites. These free, family-friendly events are a great way for Trail Challengers to come together, learn about local history, try out some gear, win fun freebies from our TRTC sponsors and find everyone’s beloved trail mascot, McLeod the Marmot stationed somewhere along the challenge route.
