As the current Chairperson of the Chamber Organization; it is my pleasure to work with not only a dedicated staff of professionals, but also a committed group of business leaders. B Gorman and her staff work tirelessly on many fronts in order to keep the health and vitality of our business community where it needs to be. I am continuously impressed with the energy and professionalism of this group as they aggressively work to the benefit of our Members. These efforts, (in conjunction with business leaders who volunteer their time and effort beyond their normal responsibilities to their own organizations), combine to form an organization that I am proud to lead.
While it is easy to look at the current economic challenges facing us and say we should be satisfied with the status quo, our Chamber Organization feels strongly that we must continue to move forward. There are countless examples of businesses in our local community that are far from satisfied in how they are currently performing. These businesses understand that you are only as good as your last meal, or product, or service that you produced. We welcome the challenge of surpassing our prior performance or in keeping up with the latest changes in technology or practices in our respective industries. By doing this we are able to not only stay afloat in these challenging times; but to also prosper.
The Chamber is well positioned to offer assistance to our local businesses on many fronts. From the Workshops to the Governmental Focus to the Social Networking and beyond, there is no end to the ability of this group to assist its members---all you need to do is ask.
As we move forward as both the Chamber Organization as well as members of the South Shore Business Community; I cannot over-emphasize the need for us to look beyond the hurdles and obstacles in front of us. Only by focusing our efforts on the positive, pro-active opportunities of what could be (versus the negative road so many seem to dwell on), can we take the local business community in a successful direction. I look forward to helping where I can in facilitating this movement in the South Shore Community.
