Lake Tahoe was chosen among Yahoo Travel’s top lakeside vacations in the world for its majestic beauty and author Mark Twain heralded the region “the fairest picture the earth affords.”

The South Shore of Lake Tahoe straddles the California and Nevada stateline, including the incorporated city of South Lake Tahoe. In addition to South Lake Tahoe, the Lake Tahoe Basin includes Incline Village (NV), Stateline (NV) and Tahoe City (CA), as well as an unincorporated area called Meyers. An hour west of Reno and two hours east of Sacramento, Lake Tahoe is easily accessible via two international airports, auto or bus.

The South Shore of Lake Tahoe includes several areas of interest to visitors and locals alike. There are numerous parks, beaches and wooded areas for hiking, kayaking, skiing and more.
